What To Consider When Wedding Planning
Planning a wedding has never been more exciting. Today’s weddings aren’t what they used to be as many extra avenues are now open to more people than there once was. Inexpensive travel, cheaper hotel rates and access to once remote locations can make that special occasion one to remember.
Adventure and excitement for your wedding day may sound romantic but there are more things to consider when planning a wedding. Location will more then likely be one of the most important decisions to make. If planning a wedding halfway across the world, will it be a place that friends and family will be able to have access to? Some people have held weddings while sky diving from an airplane. This may once again seem adventurous but is it a place where your grandmother and grandfather will be able to share in the festivities? So, an important factor when doing your destination wedding planning is to consider the people that you would like to be there. If it’s important for the grandparents to attend, it may be better to save the sky diving for the honeymoon or save it for a pre or post wedding event. If you’re unsure of where you would want your wedding to be or if you’re unsure about what is available in a certain area, you can check out a wedding planning web site. There are many out there and their sole purpose is to provide you with information to help plan your wedding.
Once a suitable location is selected that caters to the needs of the bride, groom and guests it is time for the wedding event planning. Wedding events can be catering, music, transportation and other activities. If you are having a wedding in a new location or you’re just not familiar with what may be available in your native area you may wish to consult some wedding planning guides. These can be lists available off the internet, out of a phone book or you may wish to consult a professional wedding planner in the chosen area. A wedding planner can also help with travel plans, hotel bookings and handling any odds and ends that may need to be addressed. Remember to try and plan events that everyone can enjoy to help make that special day memorable for everyone.
No wedding planning would be complete without those wedding vows. Some people still choose to write their own vows while others simply go with the more traditional vows. Wedding vows planning can be an important part of the wedding adding or taking away intimacy from the event. A favourite poem or simple words of commitment, respect and love can be shared and can make all the difference in the ceremony.
Wedding planning can take time and a lot of effort. It’s important to realise the experience you wish to create and make sure that everything remains affordable at the same time. Keeping guests in mind whilst planning can save time and money and also ensure that a full list of guests attend. If however you are looking for that romantic get away for two, there are many non traditional paths to take as well. The important part when planning your wedding is to make sure that the bride and groom are happy with their decisions and that they make them together.

what should i consider when planning my wedding?
when planning for the photography and videography of the wedding, what should i expect from a consulation? as in what types of questions should i make sure to ask?
ask for samples. that is probably the most important thing. You want to know exactly what you’re paying for.
Just as important is that you read the contract CAREFULLY. Don’t be caught by any surprises. And don’t sign anything you aren’t 100% comfortable with.
Also, ask for references of past events they’ve done.

Always find out how many photographers will be assigned to your wedding. You simply MUST have more than 1, 2 are good, 3 are ideal.
Find out what package deals the photog offers. Many times if you have them do your engagement photos, they will be more reasonable about bridal portraits and wedding day photos. (create a package at a lower price) Very important too, is how much time do you have? Some photographers do not give you enough time coverage. Find one that doesn’t schedule more than one wedding a day and that promises coverage from the very beginning of your day till the end of the reception.
And very important and sometimes overlooked, give your photographer a list of the things they MUST cover. ie., and elderly relative that you may not get to see too many more times….the bridal/dressing room for those candid pre-wedding shots, like touching moments between bride and father!
Best wishes!

1. Be sure to see sample albums/videos. For the photos, make sure they show you a good selection of photos from the same wedding. Sometimes they just pick one good photo from this wedding, and one from this one, and one from that one. But, you want more than one good photo! So make sure you look at a sample wedding album from start to finish to make sure all aspects of the wedding were taken well. I made this mistake. I saw a few samples, and thought they looked great. But the photographer was only good at certain types of pictures.
2. Ask wedding photographer/ videographer if you would be able to provide a list of must-have wedding photos. Like if you want to make sure to get a photo with your grandma, you and your mom all together. This was a mistake I made with my photographer and when the photos came back there were very few with my family and lots and lots of his family. I should have given him a list of photos I really wanted taken.
3. They will probably also want to know the number of photos you want taken, etc. This will be for pricing. Make sure you do your research on pricing in your area so you will know what price sounds good.

First and foremost, get samples, or look at their website to determine their overwhelming style. Is the photographer more traditional or photojournalistic? Traditional encompasses more "staged" shots, while a photojournalistic photographer will make the most of candids–that is, getting pics of you and everyone else when you’re doing something, like telling the "story" of the day through photo.
Are they modern? What type of enhancements can you count on? Are they included? Usually, retouching is automatic these days, but be sure to ask. And if you want something special like a black and white photo, but the roses in the picture showing up their true red color, you might have extra for this. Ask about all special finishes for your package, and what you have to choose from.
Will he/she shoot mostly in color? Black and white? Both? Determined by the type of pictures you want.
Does the photographer use digital or traditional film?
What type of lighting equipment will be in use?
Are you meeting with the person who is actually shooting the wedding? If not, ask to meet the actual photographer. Also, ask about assistants: if he/she has one and how they will work on that day.
Ask if you can provide a list of "must have" shots. This is usually the case, and a good photographer will consider this.
If you want photos "off location" (i.e. some place other than the ceremony or reception venue), ask about any additional costs, or things to consider. For example, if you’re shooting outdoors and it’s going to be really bright that day, versus shooting in a dark reception hall. It’s just always good to let them know so that they have the right equipment (but, usually, they do anyway).
Ask about time expected from shooting to production (i.e. when you get them back). Ask about the formats you’ll have as well — traditional portfolio, or digital options?
That’s all I can think of.

you can find list of questions online. print them out and bring them to your vendors and have them fill in their answers.

What is the price?, How long have you been doing this, Ask for references, ask to see some of their work, ask if they will be the actual person working for you on that day, and how long will they stay their to record your wedding day including the reception, also let him know what you expect.
